Pneumatic Bracket Design
During my coop at MKS Instruments, Inc., there was a need for pressure moderation in a new experimental, high precision low pressure test stand. The pressure pneumatic device and hoses needed to be elevated within the test stand to meet specifications. I designed the bracket that achieved this.
Meeting Design Specifications

- The pneumatic hose moderator needed to be elevated off the base of the test stand enough so minimal shear strain would be produced in the hosing. I also needed to research ways to secure the hose gage to the bracket.
- After deciding to use PEMS, I researched PEM dimensions and thread sizes on supplier website and modified my design accordingly. The image on the left is my final design
3D Printed Final Prototype
This is the final prototype for the pneumatic bracket that was 3D printed. The device screwed into the bracket is the pneumatic pressure moderator previously purchased. The hole in the side is a place to feed the hosing through. This device will be outsourced to a sheet metal shop, and utilized in the final low pressure test stand.
